An informal survey of tuesday's front pages in dozens of leading U.S. newspapers shows that at least one out of three featured photographs of gay couples getting legally married or celebrating afterward in Massachusetts.
For some reason, the vast majority of photos showed lesbian couples, not males. Only two major dailies showed couples (female) kissing on the front page, and one showed two women on the verge of kissing.
Most commonly featured was a wire service photo of two women in white waving as they left a church or two other women in the midst of a wedding ceremony. Some photos showed couples with their children.
